MELISSA WONG

STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING COACH

Meet Coach Mel

Melissa Wong is a passionate and dedicated athletic coach with more than four years of experience training youth and high school athletes. Her coaching philosophy focuses on holistic health, exercise physiology, strength development, and building well-rounded athletes both on and off the field.

Melissa earned her Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Gardner-Webb University in North Carolina, followed by a Master’s degree in Sports Health Science with a concentration in Exercise Physiology from Life University in Marietta, GA. She is currently pursuing certifications in strength and conditioning, personal training, and sports nutrition.

Throughout her career, Melissa has coached a variety of youth sports, including recreational boys’ basketball and girls’ softball. She has a strong passion for helping young Bahamian athletes achieve their personal best and prepare to compete at higher levels. Specializing in strength training and injury prevention, Melissa creates a motivating environment where athletes can track their progress and build confidence in their athletic journey.

Coach Wong believes that sports are a powerful tool for developing discipline, resilience, and leadership, while also creating opportunities for youth to connect with their community and the wider world.

In addition to coaching for BAP, Melissa serves as a Physical Education Coach and Trainer at Paradise Fitness, where she continues to work with young athletes across multiple sports to help them reach their full potential.
